Lucy's Birthday Party

Lucy has turned 1-year old, and we had a great party out by the pool at Nonnie and Poppy's house!

Here is Lucy on her actual birthday on Wednesday, July 9 eating her cupcake after dinner. She was so excited to get to eat some cake, because we withhold many sweets from her at this point. Notice the grin on her face while we were singing "Happy Birthday" to her.

Here is Lucy's birthday cake for her party on Saturday. We typically get our cakes from Ed's Bakery in Conway, which has been a family favorite for many years. They were closed the entire week of Lucy's birthday, so we had to go else where. We chose Mickey's in Little Rock, and they did a great job. However, I did order purple and lavender balloons and writing and it turned out blue in my opinion. BUT the cake was great!

Here's Mommy, Daddy, and Lucy while Lucy's eating her piece of cake. She did a good job eating considering this was the first time she has been let loose with a piece of cake!
Here's the typical first birthday picture of the baby stuffing her face with cake. Lucy was much neater with eating her cake than Logan was, and Lucy ate very little nibble of that huge piece of cake!

Here are some pictures of everyone having fun in the water. It was so hot that the only place outside that was comfortable was in the pool!!

Lucy ended her party with crashing in Mommy's arms. These are some of the most precious moments to me. I just try to take a picture of this in my mind and hold on to it forever.

Uncle Bobby and Aunt Anne came to Lucy's party, but they were bearing gifts for Logan too for her birthday a few weeks ago. Here is Logan dressed up in her princess dress, multiple bracelets, and leis from Lucy's party.

Later that night Lucy opened her gifts from Nonnie and Poppy. She loved ripping through the paper of the envelopes!

Here are Logan and Lucy sitting in their new Arkansas Razorback rocking chairs from Granny, their great-grandmother. I painted their names on the back of the chairs so there should not be any future fighting over which chair belongs to which baby!

We have survived both birthday parties this year, and we are praying for fun, safe, and happy year to come!

Happy Birthday little one! That pool looked like it was definitely the place to be! I think it's so cute that she was so dainty with her cake. The best pic of all is definitely the one of her sleeping in your lap! So Sweet!

LOVE her little hat! LOVE IT! Looks like she enjoyed her birthday bash. You've got to frame the picture of her sleeping in your arms. And what a cute idea on the Razorback chairs. They will be using those for forever.
