Logan turns 2-years old

Our precious first born child is now 2-years old!! It is absolutely amazing to think about all the things the last 2 years have held, but in the same breath it is absolutely amazing to think that 2 years have already passed. Logan has brought us so much joy, so many laughs, and so much hope. We thank God everyday for her presence in our lives and for allowing us to be her parents here on Earth. Here are some pictures of Logan's "birthday week." Her birthday was on Monday, June 23 but we did not have her birthday party until the following Saturday, so she thought her birthday was everyday that week. Everyday began and ended with "MY BIRTHDAY!"

Here is Logan getting her birthday hat ready for her party at school on her true birthday, Monday, June 23.

Here she is eating her cupcake at school.

Here is a picture of her classmates all have cupcakes for Logan's birthday. They are so cute sitting in their little chairs, at their little tables eating food. They usually run around that room like crazy playing, but when it comes time for food and especially "goodies" you could hear a pin drop in that room while they eat!

Logan playing with her best friends, Meredith and Kyndal. These 3 girls are so funny together.

For dinner on Logan's birthday, I fixed her favorite foods...poppy seed chicken, mac-and-cheese, and corn. She loved it all and ate 2 helpings of mac-and-cheese.

Lucy got to share in some of the food as well. She still does not have any teeth, so her food choices are very limited. She was able to eat some of the chicken because it was shredded very fine and some the noodles from the mac-and-cheese. Lucy is so ready to eat food, and I feel so sorry for her that she does not have any teeth. I am beginning to wonder if we are going to have to invest in baby dentures.

After bath time on her birthday, I finally let Logan paint her fingernails. Not that I really cared if her nails were painted, but I did not want her to make a huge mess while they were drying. We had a little talk before we began, and she understood very well that she was going to have to be very still. She LOVED the whole process, and she went around the rest of week telling everyone "pretty nails."

We had Logan's real birthday party on Saturday, June 28 with our family. Nonnie made her a homemade cake shaped and decorated like a doll. This is the exact same cake Nonnie made for Ali for her 2nd birthday, which made it really special. As soon as the cake was placed in front of Logan she began trying to eat the feet. The look on her face made me think that she thought the whole thing was for her!!

Here is Logan last year eating her birthday cake. I think she had more on her little hands and smeared all over the tray of her highchair than she had in her tummy!

Logan eating her cake this year was a little different than last year....no highchair, using a fork rather than hands, ice cream with the cake, and much less mess!!

Here is Logan with her great-grandmother, Ali's granny, opening cards. She loved opening the card and tearing the envelope, then moving on to the next one.

After we finished eating we went swimming with the girls. Here is Ali with her babies.

Here are some pictures of Lucy playing in the water. She has been swimming in the pool since she was about 2 weeks old, so she loves the water. She is not the least bit afraid, but she has no idea that all this fun water could actually hurt her!

Here is Logan playing in the water, and you can barely see Lucy's little hand reaching out there wanting to join her. They play so hard outside.

Before we went inside for the day, the sprinkler system came on and started spraying the sidewalk around the pool. Logan jumped out of the pool as fast as she jumped in to play in the water. She loved the water falling all around her!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOGAN!

I can't get over how cute Logan's cake is! I seriously gasped when I saw the picture of it. WOW! Aren't you so glad the girls enjoy the water? They look very comfortable in it.
