Our 4th of July weekend did not go exactly as we had invisioned. It rained Friday and Saturday and the girls did not feel very good because of a minor stomach issue. But we managed to get a few pictures worth sharing with the blog world.
Thursday night Lucy began walking really good. She has been taking one and two steps at a time all week, but something Thursday night clicked. We pulled out the camera quick and got some pictures. Babies' first steps are alway so cute and so fun. She is so happy that she can walk now, but she still spends a lot of time falling and getting back up. Walking is just another way Logan and Lucy are so different...Logan did not walk until she was about 12.5 months old and once she started she walked perfectly because she waited until she knew for sure she could do it, Lucy on the other hand has been attempting to walk for 2 weeks now and she would rather fall and try, try again.
Here is a picture of what Friday and Saturday looked like off and on. We had hoped to spend most of these days outside in the pool with the girls, but instead we spent most of the day inside looking out. Oh well.
We didn't let the weather or a little stomach bug stop us from showing our patriotism to our wonderful country that God has so graciously blessed us with. Hoy and I both have been rasied to have so much love and respect in our hearts for America, and it is very important to both of us to leave that legacy in our girls. Here are some pictures of Logan and Lucy sporting some USA attire! Logan is trying to help Lucy walk without falling so much.
Here the final product. We all ate very well!
And we ended the weekend with a yard project after church on Sunday. We had a dinky flower bed in the back yard, so Ali's dad helped us extend and dress it up. We still have to finish the corner and attempt to keep it all alive!
We hope you all had a wonderful July 4th and remembered to thank God for our special country and a veteran for the sacrafices that have been made to obtain our freedom and keep that freedom. This country is certainly not perfect, but I don't know of anywhere I would rather be!!
