Special Weekends

Father's Day weekend one of Ali's best friends and the God-mother of our girls, Natalie, came to visit us from Nashville, Tennessee. We were so excited to see her, and we told the girls about her coming for a week. Logan and Tori, Natalie's daughter, had not seen each other in almost a year, so we were really anxious to see how they played together. We had so much fun, and we were so sad to see Natalie and Tori leave on Monday morning. Hopefully we will be able to take a trip to Nashville soon to pick up with the playing where we left off....

We were leaving our house to go meet Natalie and Tori, and Logan was so excited. She was saying "Nat-Nat" the whole way. She was surprised that she did not recognize Natalie right away, but Logan warmed up to her really fast!

Here is Natalie with her daughter Tori on the left and Logan on the right swimming in Ali's parents' pool. This is the same pool that Ali and Natalie played in for hours and hours when they were little girls.

Logan, Lucy, and Tori pose for picture with a little work from the Moms. It was so much to see the girls together and playing together. They were so sweet.

After swimming, we had to take a bath. Logan and Lucy are used to taking baths together, and bath time is usually pretty exciting and active for them. However, Tori is used to a fairly quiet bath time by herself. She was in for a surprise with all the girls! We thought they were so cute standing here together. They are stair-stepped in age at 6 months apart...Lucy 12 months old, Tori 18 months old, and Logan 24 months old.

After bath time, Lucy was ready for bed as usual but Logan and Tori were ready to play together. They jumped and rolled all over the bed and chased each other around the house. It was so funny because Tori wanted to do everything Logan was doing and Logan would turn around and do everything Tori was doing. They were little mimics of each other.

The following weekend Hoy and one of our friends David went camping together. I stayed home with the girls and David's wife, Kristen who is a Pediatric resident, stayed home to work and study. Here is a picture of David in front of the camper working on dinner.

Here are pictures of David and Hoy fishing on the little lake. They report that they caught some 16 fish of which 2 were worth keeping, so all 16 made it back into the water rather than into the cooler. The weekend was supposed to be about going fishing, but it seems that it was really more about getting away for a while...Hoy from the craziness of 2 babies and David from the craziness of his OB/GYN residency! It is also interesting that of all the pictures that were taken on this camping trip, not one picture had a face!?! What is it about the guys trying to take pictures of each other??

We had so much fun! We both wanted to stay longer! I just can't believe how much fun the girls had. Tell your parents we missed them! Thanks again for dinner!
