Sorry we've been away for a while, but things have been kind of crazy in our life and home. We've had some fun times, some disaster times, and some times we just thanked God we were all 4 alive! Let the pictures tell the story....

Here is Logan waiting for us to get ready to leave for church. She is so funny walking around the house in her church clothes while we finish getting Lucy ready. It's like she knows that we think she's so cute in her dress-up clothes, and I really think she enjoys getting dressed up.

We met Ali's parents for breakfast one Saturday morning, and Logan is laughing at her Nonnie and Poppy making the "fish" face. She has the book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see?" and we are teaching her the various animal noises. Well, fish don't exactly make noises, so we make a fish face and she thinks that is so funny. What she doesn't realize is that the funny part is her trying to make the same face back to us!!

Hoy had the Sunday School guys over for a poker night on Monday 2/11, and here are the guys gathered around the table playing cards. I guess it is irony for the church guys to be playing cards, but they have such a great time.

Poker night for the guys was also a ladies' night for the wives...but we had to baby-sit the kids too! We had so much fun sitting around talking and watching our kids play together. Here is Lucy with her buddy Eli. She and Eli are 2 days apart in age. Can you tell who's older??? Wrong!! Lucy is the oldest!!

This is the morning that all the excitement began, Tuesday 2/12. Here is a picture at about 6:00AM in front of our house, and yes that is a fire truck. Our house got struck by lightening at about 5:30AM and caught the side of our house on fire. We called 911 for help, and our neighbors called 911 for help because they saw the flames and smelt a gas leak in their home. We had 5 fire trucks in front of our two houses! The neighborhood got a nice wake-up call.

Here is one of the holes blown out in our back yard where the lightening traveled through our cable line and just tore the cable right out of the ground. It all happend so fast, and it sounded like someone had dropped a bomb on our house. We have friends that heard the "blast" about a mile away!

Here is a picture of the side of our house where one of the holes just blew dirt all over our siding. Some of the siding and gutters were cracked and busted from the rocks in the ground. One of the holes blew apart a root from a treee that was about 2 inches thick and threw it onto our deck.

This is what our TV and stand looked like the evening before the lightening hit.

And here is a picture of the TV and stand in our living room the night after the lightening hit. Our 42" plasma TV was struck through the cable line and would not work at all, but the TV in the office was somewhat spared. It would at least play DVD's, so we watched every DVD we owned 2 and 3 times over the next week. It was really no sweat, we were just glad to be alive and un-harmed. It truely is amazing the see the power of our God through nature!

Here is Logan eating her new favorite food--guacamole. This is only green vegetable she will eat...oh wait, I think an avocado is actually a fruit. I guess she still doesn't eat any green vegetables!

And here is Lucy eating her favorite new food--icing covered graham cookies with sprinkles. She will suck all of the frosting off the cookie, and then look at you like "what did you do with the frosting?"

My friend, Brenna, had her baby on Friday, 2/15. Baby Jude joined us at about 9:30PM, after Brenna worked at the clinic all day!! We are so excited he is here and that he arrived safely!! Welcome Jude!

We decided to buy Logan a pillow for her bed. I'm not sure if it is really too early for this, but she ends up wadding up her blanket so that she has something to lay her head on. I thought that a small, hard pillow couldn't be any more dangerous than 3 blankets in her bed? She loves it!

Lucy started holding her bottle alone really good about 4 weeks ago. Here she is last week lying in her swing, feeding herself her bottle, and basically asleep. Early in her life she would sleep in this swing all night long. She preferred the swing over her bed, hands down. But about 2 weeks ago the swing died, and now it just sits there. We haven't brought ourselves to getting rid of it just yet, because it works well holding Lucy at a good angle to eat. And there is some weird sentimental valve because both girls spend huge amounts of their infant time in that swing!

This past Saturday, 3/1, was so beautiful so we took the girls to the neighborhood park. They had so much fun playing and just being outside. Hoy gave Lucy his hat trying to keep her from getting a sunburn. Lucy is the best baby I've ever seen. She is completely entertained by just watching Logan play. She had her first ear infection last week, and it was in both ears with a little touch of pneumonia but you would never know it by how she acted. She continued to sleep like normal, play like normal, eat like normal, and smile all of the time. Go figure!!

The rest of these pictures are of Logan playing in the park. I was really proud of her for sharing the toys and taking her turn without us even having to prompt her to do it. She has learned so much about socializing by attending day-care, or "school" as we like to call it to her face. It is hard to believe how fast she is growing up and how much she has learned in her short 20 months of life. Sometimes it seems like yesterday that she was born, but when I watch her sometimes she seems so big and so old. She is still a baby, but she's really not a baby anymore!

Thanks for your patience over the last month with no postings! I'll try to do better!
God Bless.
